TWENTY-SEVEN

Liam decided how to spend his extra day off once he got into Chicago. He wanted to see the city. Maybe take a tour and do touristy things. He was sure there would be very cool things to do in Chi-Town.

Before he crossed the Illinois border he stopped for gas and searched on his phone for things to do in Chicago.

Liam could take a tour of the Chicago River, seeing all of the sights. That might be interesting, although he really didn’t care too much about architecture and stupid buildings.

There was a sky deck, but Liam was afraid of heights when you got too high, and he decided against it. Besides, it might be really windy and blow him off the top. Chicago was the Windy City, right? He decided not to add that to his mental list of fun things to do.

He also knew this might not be his last time in Chicago. This might be a regular stop whenever he had the van, and he didn’t want to cram a bunch of things into one day and not enjoy any of it because he was rushing.

There was a ghost walk tour which he thought might be promising, especially since it also had a tie-in with the history of gangsters in Chicago. Not that he considered himself a gangster in any way, or on par with some of the greats, but he thought you could learn from the best of the best. Who didn’t want to see and read about Al Capone? Liam knew he wanted to know more about the Chicago Mafioso. He might spend the day with this tour and see how long it was.

Liam knew he’d also need to park the van somewhere no one would come near it, and he’d need to make sure the Mexican hookers were completely sedated so they didn’t make any noise and draw attention.

The last thing he needed was a nosy person to hear banging inside the van and call the cops.

Maybe I should skip the tour and just deliver the goods and go home, Liam thought. Even though he had a full day until he made his next delivery, maybe he could message The Boss and have it moved up.

He decided against it because he didn’t want to make any waves. Didn’t want The Boss to think he couldn’t follow orders and do what he was told.

Liam drove into Chicago and found a parking garage, going straight to the top and pulling into a corner so only one person could possibly park next to him. This early in the morning the van was the only vehicle on top, but he knew it would fill up quickly.

Careful no one in any of the buildings around the parking garage might be able to clearly see him, Liam went to the back of the van and slipped inside. He closed the door behind him. Before he took a walk he’d need to back the van further into the spot so no one could easily get to the back doors.
